Nomique and Casala have collaborated with the design studio Kommer Kors to design a multifunctional chair with a linking system that enables the user to link the chair without any handling time. For the linking “innovation” Casala challenged Esquisse who invented the linking system. After a year of intensive development the Lynx chair is ready to revolutionise stacking and linking chair solutions.
Several requirements were set by Casala:
- The linking system should be easy to use by everybody without explanation
- The linking system should be strong so it can not break due to abuse
- Handling time of the linking system should be reduced to zero
- No extra linking parts should be attached to the chair
- The linking system should comply with the new European norm for linking chairs
The integrated linking system is so simple that all requirements have been met. The armrests that slide over each other make sure that the next chair slides in place. A firm row of chairs is the end result.
Kommer Kors has paid a lot of attention to the design of the chair. The modern contours of the shell, armrests and frame support the beauty of the chair. Of course the ergonomical shaped shell shows that sitting comfort was never forgotten. The simplicity of the design fits well together with the simplicity of the linking system.
